TORONTO - Scott Dixon was placed in a good position for a second straight IndyCar victory.
A native of New Zealand, the fastest time in the second qualifying round on Saturday at the Honda Indy Toronto. Dixon won the meeting in 58.9686 seconds, beating teammate Dario Franchitti, who finished second in 59.1905 seconds.
Friday in qualifying for the first race of the event doubleheader, Franchitti bowed his fifth pole position in the race for Toronto, while Dixon finished the first race in sixth today. But on Sunday, the two pilots Ganassi chip will start goals in the first row.
Last weekend in Pocono, Dixon won his first victory of the year, while Franchitti was third.
"We are very happy after what happened (Friday)," said Dixon. "I was wrong on a couple of turns, cost us, he did not think we had the time of Darius.

"But the implementation on the car (Friday night), to make a few adjustments and certainly has the speed to go. Has been a while since we are in pole position for a lot of the street / road."
In fact, this is the first 1-2 start for Chip Ganassi and Franchitti had the pole and Dixon was at # 2 in October 2010 on the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Dixon won the pole 19 to 12 all time tied with Danny Sullivan, but the first since June 2012 at Belle Isle.
There were three qualifying rounds Friday, but on Saturday only. Drivers were divided into two groups, and the best moments of each session starting order for the race on Sunday in the only Canadian stop circuit this season determined.
"It's a different pace than you are accustomed to the practice and qualifying," Franchitti said. "To go directly to qualification is interesting, and I'm not a morning person.
"On the black rims, washed my wall - I scratch the wall in Turn 1 and the guys had to replace a tie rod and literally took to replace red wheels and we left .. I pushed as hard as possible a minute and a half," and it was a very good trip, actually. We are very happy both cars landing in the front row and Scott did a great job for the post.
Helio Castroneves Penske is the current leader with a start time of 59.1953 seconds third, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay, Andretti Autosport, the defending race and series champion, a quick round of 59, had 3915 seconds.
"We have some changes to the car (Friday night) that our Hitachi Dallara / Chevrolet has improved and was able to complete a good return," Castroneves said. "Now we have to go and do and begin to see what happens."
The first two races of 85 laps of the track 1.75 miles instead of the exhibition will feature the first exit stop Indy Car since 2008.
Castroneves had his best result of the season on a street circuit. His previous best was fifth in St. Petersburg.
But it was a difficult qualifying session for the two Canadian pilots.
James Hinchcliffe of Oakville, Ontario., A sixth place in its group with a time of 59.6750 seconds and will start on the 12th, three points behind Alex Tagliani, Lachenaie, Que., Who had a fast lap of 59.7601 seconds.
At the opening Friday qualifying for the first race of the weekend, and Hinchcliffe and Tagliani were the first round with 13 Hinchcliffe game, four points ahead Tagliani.
